What to expect at your puppy’s visit

History taking (ie; prior conditions, appetite, food, potty training)- This information is important to assess your puppy's current and future health. It will allow us to focus on specific areas that may need attention.

Full Physical exam- during this part of the visit the veterinarian will assess all body systems of your new puppy.  The veterinarian will be looking for abnormalities that will affect the health of the puppy and discuss them with you.

Vaccines- immunization of puppies is important to appropriately build your puppy’s immune system to protect them from certain viruses and bacteria. Their vaccine protocol will be tailored to their lifestyle. For more information on the diseases we can vaccinate for click here.

Possible Blood testing- although much is ascertained by a physical exam, to get a full picture of your puppy’s health, a blood sample can be drawn and basic testing performed. For more information click here.

Fecal Examination- analysis of the feces allows us to make sure your new puppy is free of gastrointestinal parasites. These parasites can be detrimental to their health and in cases human health. For more information on gastrointestinal parasites we commonly find click here.
